I just picked up my car a few days ago and it only has about 20 miles on it so far. Now the service light is coming on...any ideals why?

The 1,200 mile first service light is programed to come on 90 days after your car was built. It don't not take into account miles traveled. Drive your car 1,200 miles following BMW break in guide and you will be fine. Then at 1,200 mile have the first service done. Go look up the sticky as to which fluids should be used.

That doesn't sound smart on BMW's part.
What if the car is sitting at a dealer's showroom because they are asking too much over invoice? :eeps:
When the first owner turns the engine on he gets the service light?

Then Pacific BMW can charge them a 45% markup to do the run in service...

it's a reminder that the new owner paid to much and should have gotten a better deal for a car that has sat over 90 days,,

ok.. that was a joke.. Seriously.. " doesn't sound smart on BMWs part?" Actually.. it sounds like it IS a very good idea. Heck.. maybe the owner should contact the dealer now to have them change the fluids that have been sitting in the vehicle for 90 plus days? oil that sits for a long period of time can begin to break down.
