Anybody Else notice that in this pic, they liberally used Photoshop? The car is only going 5mph according to the speedometer, tops, but look at the trees.

I did. Also take a look at what gear the car is in? Looks like First!

Remember that this pictures are not from BMW, were taken by a Spanish on-line car magazine that has already briefly tested the car: http://www.km77.com/00/bmw/1/coupe/t01.asp It is in Spanish but I could translate some opinions if I get the time... |

Car magazines tweak photos too, to make them more interesting. At 5 mph, they would need quite the long shutter speed to make the outside scenery do that, and everything else is pretty crispy sharp. It's a moving car, and you can't do long exposurees in a moving car. It's definitely a PS.

they probably just want you focusing on the interior of the car and not the countryside that would otherwise take up a large part of the picture.

The navigation screen is tiny compared to the Acura TL or TSX which both have an 8" widescreen.
I really want a navi system but am very dissapointed at the size of the screen and the fact that it is not integrated into the dash, and sticks out rather badly. |

The screen is the same size in the Z4 and the X3. It actually works quite well.

I have nav in my e90, and really, when the new e9x dashes were being introduced, I didn't like the single hump (non-nav) version. That's really what I checked the iDrive option off. Now, 2.5 yrs later, I LOVE navigation.
Seeing it's not integrated though, I think I'm just going to mount a PDA on the back side of that cubby door on the dash, with Tomtom installed in it. I won't have voice command, but it'll do great for directions and I still have handfree on my phone anyway. I have all that stuff already too.. It'll save me a few thousand on top of it. |

I hope none of these options are the sport seats, they all look cheap IMO...
And why cant BMW move the memory position to the door? Its a pita reaching down there to switch on my e46, all 3 buttons feel the same M 1 and 2, so sometimes I hit the wrong one and accientallly re-program them. I've pretty much just given up on it and leave it in one spot as I'm the only driver... Oh, and I dont see what the fuss is with the navi screen, it looks about the same or larger than my oem e46 indash unit. I guess if its a dealbreaker, then go for an e9X. It doesnt look tacky in the Z4 (and all of its variants) or the X3 IMO. Do you really nead a huge distracting screen? Is it more "bling"? What is functional will be fine for me...

the nav screen is plenty big. it might be in a bit of an awkward placement, but i like the fact that it opens and closes instead of always being out there. we'll have to see about the seats...if they are similar or the same to the e90, those ones really used to make my back hurt after 2+ hours in the car.

^ Awkward? I think my current e46 placement is awkward, I have to take my eyes off the road to look at it. While your always going to have to do that, this one is just to the right and lower of what would be my normal driving line of sight. It should be much easier to glance at...
I took a road trip with a couple of friends in an e90, but sat in the back the whole time. I havent tried my e46 seats past 8 hours, but the 8 hour trips too and from "home" are no problem...

Anyways I'm digging the choice of more than one color in leatherette. I don't want to burn my ass on black faux leather, plus I just find all black interiors downright austere. |

Looking the right hand of the guy driving the car I still think that the picture has been taken with some overexposure. Do not know if retouched later...
