Sad to see it go, but I'm glad I was able to ride the wave. Based on the looks of the current 3 and 4 series. I think it will be a generation before I get another BMW. The M5 is too heavy and expensive. I only wish I had picked up a 1M before they ended production. Kudos to a great little car with dumbo ears.

Bye!
I was so excited as the 1er was coming out, I couldn't wait to get my hands on 1. Then when I saw 1 in person, it just didn't do it for me. 2 months before the 1M rumors/spy shots, etc came about I bought a house, had no way to buy 1

Nice to see so many familiar names here from back in the early days of 1Addicts.
Still have my 2011 135i. And, to me, it looks better today than when I got it. Literally a car ahead of it's time. The design isn't as polarizing today as it was when first released. I think it's a classic- the bulldog snub-nosed front- the great shoulder line. It pretty much encapsulates the dimensions of the new smaller proportioned cars hitting the road today. It'll be interesting to see how the resale price holds up over time. |

What a great car! The design still looks fresh even to this date. It was truly ahead of its time in terms of look (as stated the above).

Bought the first year in 2008 and then got another in 2011. My M is a totally different car, but I LOVED the 135i. Truly a blast to drive. Lets hope the 2 series does it proud.

This is one of the primary reasons I purchased an E82.. I never thought I would be able to buy a 2002 in 2013.. Feels kinda good to have what I believe will be a collectors item in the future.. I plan on maintaining the piss out of it and enjoying it as long as I can..
This car is wonderful and it's incredible to me that demand has to be the obvious reason for it's demise.. |

Demise? BMW is simply renaming the 1 coupe and convertible to the 2. And sales of the second generation car will quite likely outpace the first generation. Add in the 2 GC in 2015 and this car should be a huge hit.

Oh well, I'm just glad we were able to pick up a 135i two weeks ago. Those of you wanting a manual transmission: there is a new blue 135is in Naperville. We passed it up because owning manual is maddening in Chicago traffic. |

Good run for the E82, whose success helps us get great future choices like the impending 2 series and all of its iterations. For those of us who love the E46-sized cars, the 2 is a good thing.
Great choices in the future notwithstanding, I'm happy I have an e82, which still looks like nothing else on the road.

The 1M was the best of the example........it was a great exercise of what BMW M can do right if they put their mind to it.
I love 1M

I'm glad for this. My 2008 was the second one delivered at the PDC and the first Crimson Red there.
I like the fact that there is some exclusivity. Roughly only 10,000 1's came in 2008. I drove a 4 and franky was not that impressed. Very much a boulevard cruiser. Let's see what the 2 has to offer. In the meantime. I'll keep my Year 1 of One. |
