Question Request: Driver Side Window Switch Install Advice

Searched around the interwebs and couldn't find anything on this.

Just recently swapped in a red interior and when I removed the driver-side door panel, I had to also remove the switch to give enough room to unplug it. When I went to replace the switch, the metal clip on the front was a PIA to put back in. Anyways, with some force, I got it back in; however, now it doesn't sit flush with the paneling. I pulled it off 2 more times to keep trying different ways but my friends and I couldn't figure anything out.

Does anyone have any tips?

Thanks!

Try just removing the metal clip from the switch. Mine holds in fine with out it and is now much easier to remove.

I'll give that a shot. Is there any play in it when you pull up a switch for the windows? Thanks!

I have no vertical play in the switch with the metal clip removed. The plastic retention springs in the switch cover do a good job of keeping the switch snug with the arm rest, at least on my car.
