Newbie

Having thought long & hard I decided to catch the end of the E82 product line.
I couldn't stomach the look of the M135i hatch nor the equally ugly interior. 235i meh & from those spy photo's the bonnet & grill look like someone hit it with a baseball bat.
I could wait for the 2013 S3 but I'm over 2L 4 pots, so the logical choice was the slick looking 135i. Ticked most boxes, gee it didn't take long for the price to rocket Hope I made the right choice, should find out in 4 months.

Nice stuff bro. I felt the same. I don't like F20 front end and I dislike hatches. I might have been able to stomach the 3 door version, but Aus is only getting the 5. Lame. Also generally would have liked to avoid the electronically assisted steering in the new F20's. 1M would have been nice too but I couldn't justify 40k more for a daily drive.

You can look forward to tracking it here http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ once its hit the water and you know the name of the vessel its on.

What's your spec did you pick up?

If you're a bit worried about the price skyrocket I would cut back on the following as you can still spec change.

Comfort access - For 1.5k you can stick the keyfob in the dash.

PPK - 2k for a chip for 15kW is just not worth it. A procede/JB4 can easily removed (physically) without any evidence the car has has a piggyback tuned. They're basically plug and play.

Heated seats - Don't need if you don't have hemroids :P

Dark Glass??

IMHO I would keep comfort access, it is an awesome feature and not too many seem to have it (well at least on the second hand market they didn't)

All options are staying, its already cost me a bomb, this one is defiantly a keeper.
After 3 years I may consider another tune.

I have heard this so many times before. We'll see what happens

edit: another thing to consider is if you stick the BMW Performance pack or whatever on after you pick up the car you don't pay stamp duty & LCT on those options.

I'm not sure if you're only referring to physical evidence, but data IS recorded by the ECU which service depts can access/read (think boost figures). They usually only refer to it though for engine-related warranty claims.

Congrats on the purchase mate! The wait now begins hehe

I have to say it's good to see someone go for a different colour for once rather than the usual black, white or grey.

I have Comfort Access or similar in my current car so I won't be going backwards on that option. It's rather handy at times.

To be fair to the dealer, lets just say it was heavily discounted from the ridiculous on road of $100K, I wasn't going to pay the ATO's dues with my hard earned.

Generally people don't want to say what they paid, for fear they paid too much.
