scratched rim

god damn curb was messed up and it scratched my rim!!!!

can i buff it out or something....?

Did you happen to get the wheel and tire warranty with your 128I? If so, you can that bad boy back to the dealer and they can fix. If not I am sure the service guys can give you an idea on how to fix it up.

i did - didn't think they'd replace it for a lil scratch thou. will mention it when my TPS gets fixed this week.

I managed to get some curb rash on the last day of our ED.
So today when I pick up the car at the dealer, the gouge was gone.
Sometimes dealers can do something right.
BTW it's great to have the car back after eight weeks. The second wait was worse than the first.

I wonder if BMW took care of it before sending the car to the states or if the dealer addressed it?

Does anyone know what exactly happens during rim buffing? Do they sand it down or something and repaint it? I really have no idea.

This method could definitely come in handy ... I'm ashamed to say that I've already got some minor curb rash on the front passenger rim.

His statement "WURTH wheel paint (silver) is used for ALL German painted wheels." seems a little optimistic. I can't remember where I saw it, but I think BMW sells commercial wheel paint as well. I would figure it would probably match better than the Wurth, but what do I know.

Wow, thats amazing. What I don't get is why the wheel wasn't taken off the car to do this project. Wouldn't that have make it much easier to paint and would not require to cover the entire car?

My thoughts exactly. This will be one of my winter projects once the winter wheels go on the car.
