Bump stops on factory 135i front struts?

I am trying to avoid buying new front struts for the car, as it is a low-mileage example, and the struts themselves have exhibit perfect compression/rebound in terms of life left in them, however, they are still soft, factory struts. Is it possible to add a bit of dampening force near the end of their travel by different bump stops? Spirited driving has shown that the front struts will hit full compression, and bottom out quite easily, which unnerves the car (and it's driver).
Bump stops which are slightly larger/taller, with a stiffer, progressive in hardness (or two piece?) rubber would be ideal, as it would act like a helper spring.

From what I understand is the the bumpstops are pretty big already on our cars...and a smaller one would allow more suspension travel, a bigger bumpstop would decrease your suspension travel causing it to bottom out sooner Im guessing? I just order new bumpstops cause I was told the stock ones are to big to use with bmw performance springs and koni yellows

BMW uses "active" bumpstops, they are commonly changed out to do exactly what you want, look here: http://www.sladeshocktechnology.com/bump-stops.html

Bump stop can not add damping force as it will more or less act as a secondary spring and you will need more damping just to control its rebound.

If you have sufficient travel in the strut, you may be able to get away with a shorter and slightly softer bump stop to allow just a bit more compression travel and a softer landing.
