Looking for M Performance Lip Install Instructions

Still waiting on the splitters, has anyone seen or have install instructions for the lower lip? The package I received didn't come with any, only several packages of screws, clips, etc. labeled 1-7. Furniture from IKEA would be easier to put together for this non-DIY guy without instructions...Thanks.

We need a DIY for this install with pics.

For people who have the ability and don't want to pay dealer prices for the install.

Totally agree, I have the splitter/lip sitting here and the BMW instructions are horrible. Anyone install and take photos along the way?

I have attached the installation manual for all the M performance parts for the M3/M4.

The instructions for the CF lip aren't very helpful though.

I had the dealer installed both the front CF splitters and the front lip spoiler. Both OEM BMW parts. The technicians never installed this before so it was a learning experience for both of us. First of all I just wanted the front lip spoiler (diffuser) installed so we installed it but there was a gap where the splitters go. Lesson learned.
If you just want the front lip spoiler installed, it can be done but looked terrible. The CF splitter fills the gap. Needless to say you can install the splitters alone and that's OK, but if you want the bottom spoiler alone, be prepared to have a 2 inch un-paintable space in front of the splitters.

Suggested sequence for install.
1. Install the CF splitters first. It's simple and you must use the BMW Betalink K2 adhesive kit. My kit came with the splitters but you may have to purchase the Betalink separate if it's not included. It's a snug fit and the glue dries fast.

2. Secondly, install the front lip spoiler. Hardware was included with mine. You will have to remove the right and left side under carriage cover. I wanted to keep this on, so I had them cut the rubber piece (wind deflector) that protrude downwards to make the kit fit. Helps to have a second set of hands. Attach the middle part first and you will need to drill two holes under the bumper to attach. Then attached the hardware where the pre-drilled holes are. The hardware includes some rivets, so make sure everything is lined up properly.

That's it. Just be careful with parking lot curbs, because the car sits very low. Sorry my instructions are not detailed, I am just going from memory of the BMW techs doing the install while I was standing there. Have attached one picture of the finished product. Hope this helps.

See my post above.
I'm not a DYI and I didn't take pictures, but I had the BMW techs install mine and I tried to explain as detailed as possible of the experience. See above.
Thanks and I hope this helps.

I attempted it today with the BMW instructions. Took me like 9 hours give or take. It was a bitch at the end. The cutting of the two small under trays in front of the front wheels was the difficult part and it did not fit up that well after. I couldn't land all the bolts, on one location each end, I couldn't land them at all. On another location I landed one side well enough, the other is simply threaded into plastic, so I duck taped it for safety.

I wonder how strong this will be to be honest. If and when I go well north of 100mph, I wonder how secure it will be.

Guess we will see. If it lets go, it will be a lot of damage to the underside. Looks good though.

Did anyone have an issue with those blind rivets staying in?

Maybe I'm just a retard?

Any install updates or tips? The installation manual is a joke.

Can you link is to a rivet tool that will work? I have no idea what a blind river is but I recall reading 6mm is necessary.

This was an utter joke to install. Mine is on, but I doubt I did it by the book. I got lost 1/2 thru it and just made the best of it.

Whoever said the manual was all you need is wrong. My kit had all the parts in numbered bags. At no time did my numbered bags match the instructions provided in this tread. The instructions talked about a b c d.... Etc.

What we need is a video showing what goes where. Because the manual is rubbish.

Ps: love the curveball need for a METRIC rivet gun. I ended up buying a cheap none metric one and just drilled the biggest tip it had out to the size of the funky BMW pop rivets.

I install mine in about that plus the side blades at the same time.
I was lucky I had the tool for the blind rivets which makes a big help in time spent.
Buy one on ebay for very cheap and you will be done in 30 min.

On page 16. You mean to tell me you clearly understood exactly what that mess means? If so, can you please educate us on what they are saying to do?

Thanks!

I have no clue. My dealer would be lost at this shit too. I would go to a shop that knows what they are doing or wait for a video that explains in english what the BLEEP they are talking about in this manual.

Thanks you....... BUT have you bought the lip spoiler yet? Once you see all the parts you will clearly understand the instructions....
Thanks for the tips. Can you please post the rivet gun that you mentioned is a big help? It will be really helpful for everyone on here.

Thanks.
