iDrive Monitor Hack?

I havent really researched it yet, but I figure I'll start here.

Can you find a way to use the current iDrive screen as a monitor for other video? Either hacking into the BMW BUS that carries the information from the video card to the monitor or into the monitor itself?

Has anything like this been done on the factory Nav's on the E46 or any other BMW?

I dont know about hacking but there are some aftermarket companies that allow you to use the screen for other video such as dvds or a tv tuner... www.navtv.com is one of the companies that I have heard of but I know there are others as well...

Definitely possible since European e90's have TV/NAV option.

Those TV NAV guys seem a little suspect !
Anyway we need to find a hack for this if its available in other markets there has to be a way around it for us. Is there any contacts to the BMW software/ code writers? may be we need to chip in and get our own !!!

Plus its really chappin my @$$ that this can be done in the IS 350....however they dont have Xenon available as an option without the NAV..... WTF is that !
