Help identifying rubber part from N52 engine bay
I recently did some work on the cooling system (water pump, OFHG, etc.). While struggling to remove the old upper radiator hose from the radiator (I wanted to replace the upper radiator hose for good measure), I think I dislodged the attached rubber bit.
Anyone know what this is and where it goes? |

LOL, I knew the answer even before I opened the thread. This question is asked at least 10 times a year...
OP, on the left frame rail (i.e. driver's side) underneath the airbox you'll find a course-threaded stud protruding straight up from the frame rail. The rubber isolator locates on that stud; center hole on the flat side of the isolator. Look at the bottom of the airbox (outside surface) and you'll see the domed imprint in the plastic where the isolator fits.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
