When i saw the grey pictures i doubt the car. But now see this thing from behind it has good agressive look. My god what will the m1 look like that must be one awesome machine if you ask me. The only thing that concerns me is the weight.

Agree. The grey one was pretty underwhelming...much too bland.
What concerns me is which engine will be the base model for North America...and I'm afraid it'll be the 2.8 rather than the real 3.0 which I could definitely be very happy with.

I think BMWUSA still has fears about a small BMW coupe on these shores, the infamous 318ti which sold poorly made BMW decide not to market the E46-ti in the USA. Now that BMW is sticking its neck out in this market again I believe its going to put its best effort forward. The car will come in a svelte coupe form vs. the hatch and should come with some serious power under the hood so that it will really impress initial testers and drivers. I dont think an 'adequate' engine will do, they will put something special under the hood. The top of the range car will at the very least be the 3.0l engine, and I mean the very least

You know whts interesting? The rear of this car does not have the bottom part of the bumper blacked out in plastic like the old spy shot of the car at the gas stations with "Chucky" did. I wonder why?

OMG! You could be right 'Freak.
But, getting back to the car...the part that has me going is the hood and headlight. The hood is still covered...but the section where the hood overlaps the lights is such a bad fit...weird gaps. I wonder what's up with that? And yes, why are they still taping the lights?

If it s the same guy driving the car then expect the ride height will be a few inches higher if he gets out

But this tape is making me think that there will be some sort of modified design (which would be good, FYI).

I dont think anything secretive is going on with the headlights. Just my opinion. But I do think they look a little bit smaller than the hatchbacks.

You're probably right - but I think there's a small surprise in store for us.
Love the pic Spin...50's UFO fitted out with Advevo spy-cam.

I am going to hope so as well. According to AutoBild drawings, the pics in Mohave, and the blue car without camo there was a "difuser" cut out on the bottom of the rear bumper. (You can barely see it in the Mohave Pics).

But if there is no camo on the bottom of this pic, then that means there is no diffuser, which will ultimately give the back bumper a chunkier look. Not necessarily bad, but I think I prefer the diffuser.

Same dude, for sure - no question. And BusinessWeek will have to take back their "packaging nightmare" critique if he can get in the rear seat.

I think these shots are awesome. The stance of the car, as many have observed, is far more aggressive that the grey car. The angles give only a limited sense of the overall proportion, but I think it'll be perfect. Can't wait for next week!!!

agreed all over.

yeah the picture in this thread has to be the M-sport bumper and that pic from before would almost have to be the rear M-sport bumper
(this one)

so theres gotta be redcamo on that rear bumper, it seems very un-bmw-ish

This may be a speculation, but after reviewing the photo a little more closely it looks like there is a white parting line on the rear bumper, not a reflection. Maybe itís some color-matched material covering something, then a quick/poor photoshop job was added?

my blue pic was real that was my own. But i know for sure bmw brings a lot of these pics in the real world them self to get people talk about it. So maybe they photoshopped something away to hide from us to see.

Same is the pic at the gas station make a nice story with it and it s all over the internet.

That s just the cheapest marketing you can get today with internet.

On days like today, I might be!
I get chills seeing Chucky behind the wheel! How'd that happen? Last time we saw him he was rubbing himself against the 1-er in the Mojave and now he pops up as a freakin' big-time test driver for BMW? What!

It's like this big birthday cake...this big inside thing.
We ask where are new pics? Next day BMW trots out a little grey 1-er emerging from a carwash and somehow the photos get "leaked". Lots of them.

I do think that the whole thing...Mojave, spy-pics, this site, the response , is like a form of marketing that all of us are having big fun with.
I am a happy mouse.
And yes, I am still in awe of the fatsuit guys at BMW who've slimmed the fatsuit down on the 1-er to molecular tolerances-
