It's almost funny to think people buy wheels with looks as a priority over function. Weight savings and strength over looks for the win. I'll have a set of Volk wheels please.

Imagine if that huge 3 piston caliper was just a plastic cover over a cast one piston caliper, that's what your rep. wheels are.
I'm in the same boat. I want a wheel that's light and strong--forged monoblock for sure.

Hey ttdamc, check out this thread regarding those wheels. I too wanted to run those super trick Dymag carbons.
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1820
However, I learned that they are $2500+ per wheel. If you have the $ then good on ya. If you don't like me, then check out the more reasonably priced but not as lightweight OZs, SSRs, or Volks. I love the Dymags for looks and performance but man, $10k without rubber on them hurts a bit much. I found carbon brakes too which run the same price $10K. Cool upgrade, great performance but still a bit too pricey.

Great choice - have them in my Benz, powdercoated gunmetal (only had silver when I bought 'em).

I'd probably buy SSR Type C's in anthracite for the 1 series.
I was thinking the Ultralaggera's for my next car, and I think they would look great on the 1!

I have SSR Comps (aka Type-C) on my IS300, and I love them. Can't beat a 17lbs. wheel!
