0-60 135 opinion
Anyone care to speculate on what the 0-60 time will be on the 135?....I'm really hoping for 5.0 or slightly sub 5.0.....my original logic was since the 135 is a couple of hundred LBS lighter than the 335 coupe, it should be equal to, or maybe slightly better than, the 4.8 R&T listed in 8/07 magazine....Then again, I also heard from some that they may "detune"(whatever that means) the 135 so it's not as fast as the 335....
your thoughts please....this is important stuff to me and a major factor in which car i intend to purchase next year...thanks |

i have not seen _one_ shred of evidence that the 135i will be de-tuned relative to the 335i. not one. yet some love to speculate as such without any evidence. yeah it annoys me. they point to the lack of dual pipes all the way down but that makes no sense because one large pipe (as photos appear to indicate) is less resistive than two smaller pipes.
okay off my soap box. anyway my guess is nearly identical to the 335i in straight line. as 1ster said it all comes down to gearing so i suppose someone could look those up and simulate it. |

ummm that's not a very accurate statement. the only car I can think of that makes that statement true is a 911 twin turbo and even then you just talking about drag racing from a stand still. 50-70 what are you a truck driver:smile:

0-60 to me is a benchmark i like to use to compare with other vehicles....top end speed is useless to me since i rarely drive over 90 here in morally bankrupt S FL.....you get caught driving fast here youre in big trouble.....Nevertheless, I love the thrill of accelerating with my back pinned to the seat.....exhilerating....

according to the C&D price as tested for the 335 coupe at 45k+, it states the premium package consists of Homelink,auto dimming R/V mirror,compass, lumbar support for $2450!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please tell me they left something out like, uh, leather?.....that's an awful lot of $s for a few insignificant goodies......

being that the 1 series is just under 100lbs lighter it should be pretty close to the 335i. 1/4 miles times will prolly have a bit more of a difference but Id say its safe to assume itll be just slightly faster than the 335, long as everythin remains basically the same.

Only problem is bmw always quotes their cars slower than they are for wutever reason. The 335 was like .7 seconds faster i think, which is ALOT, 0-60 speakin!!

Official specifications from BMW rates the 335i to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.5 secs. Official BMW specs for that car in acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is 5.3, 0.2 secs below.
I think that official acceleration for the 135i form 0 to 60 mph will be of about 5.1 secs. Don't you agree? |

I agree ... a buddy of mine drives the 335i and he thinks its 4.9 - 5.1 (depending on the driver) for that car. So i think for the 135 it should be lower than the 335i (same engine, less weight)...
what do u guys say? |

I wouldnt expect much difference between 335i and 135i. At most two tenths, but the limiting factor will be the 135i's narrower rear tires.
