Confused, 2006 330i? or 2008 128i?

Guys a currently have a 2006 330i AW, ZSP, ZPP, Logic 7, Cold weather package, gray interior with aluminum trim.

Am I crazy to consider trading it in for a 1 series?

Anyone else doing something like this.

I want a coupe, manual, red interior and I want a new car.

This would be my 4th bimmer if I get it.

please advice

Thanks

A few questions that may help you decide:
  • Do you have kids, or the need to haul more than two people regularly?
  • How old are you? The reason I ask is because the older you get the more likely you will want a daily driver that is a bit bigger and softer.
  • Do you intend to track the car, Auto X or road track? If so either car needs LSD which neither have (I know about the electronic version but it not the same thing)
  • Do you have the money to take a big hit on your 06 and then pay the difference for the 128?
  • Do a plus Delta for both cars and see which one has more pluses for you.
Simple right?

For me I owned a Subaru WRX STI prior to my 335i Sedan. I did the Auto X thing and Road track thing. I loved it but ended up with a car that was lowered with stiff springs, huge sway bars and a radical alignment for track use. However as for a daily driver I think my but still hurts. I regularly drive with more than two people so the Sedan works well and overall my 3er is just right for me. I just added the Turbo Tuner to my car, wow is it fast. But the 3er is the perfect size car for me and perfect blend of performance and every day ride.

Now if only I could have kept my STI for the weekend racing, but live isn’t perfect is it.

Good luck with your decision.

Don't want a 135? It's a hot-rod.

I have a 3 year old daughter. But we hardly use my car two go around town. My wife has a 2007 FJ Cruiser and thats what we use the most when is the 3 of us or when we go on trips

I ll be 29 in a month so I think it will be a while before I am concerned about that

No Track or anything like that
  • Do you have the money to take a big hit on your 06 and then pay the difference for the 128?
I only owe less than $14,000 in my car so I am gonna have to find out what my trade in value will be
  • Do a plus Delta for both cars and see which one has more pluses for you.

For now I think I will study the situation and when I get the chance I will drive by the dealership and find out how much they will give me for my car

Thanks

Ya gotta do what's right for you! Perhaps by the time the 1 coupe becomes available, you will have made up your mind. You have a couple months.

Personally, I love the space and four doors of my '06 330i. Not sure I want to go back to a coupe. Even though BMW coupes are drop-dead gorgeous!

I wouldn't give up an '06 330 for a 128. Maybe a 135, but not a 128.
