Has anyone else heard about BMW significantly cutting back on allocations of the 1 series?

According to a post on another forum, effective immediately, BMW has dropped their planned number of produced 1 series from 27-30K to something closer to 10K.

I was wondering if anyone else has heard about - or can confirm this. If this is true, I wonder if it will affect those of us that have a pre-order in already.
