That's the plan. 17" inch offer more option for tires. I have to undersize 18" snows on my CLK500 and change them every year. $95 a change. I would rather have them mounted on 17" and change them myself.

Anyone of these will do. I've had Blizzak and Mich. Alpines before and both worked great.

I most definitely am. I'd be game to get it right away if they cut a deal on it too... Clayton said he tried negotiating this deal; however, it was with Bavarian and I'm assuming their service center/parts department could just like being difficult.

I think you and Clayton should tell them that they could have 3 additional sales by the end of June if they're willing to do it for $1999/car out-the-door.

^I suggest everyone waits until the new software/updates/chip thing pans out. Better safe than no drivetrain warranty.

SSTT is the only one out there right now that doesn't throw codes AND doesn't set off the ECU "secrete" codes for impedance changes on the ECU.

V3 is real nice, but it's still hooked up to the ECU and I haven't seen anything from SHIV saying that it won't have issue with the ECU. Shark's approach would be the best and most configurable tune..if and when it comes to market.

Dinan's warranty and subsequent battles with BMW's "NO" is not really a warranty when you have to wait/pay to get something major covered.

Both Clayton and I are getting to the bottom of this. Some of these details are very real; however, some of it is just hearsay as well. We both have reliable contacts that should be able to provide more accurate explanations and a helping hand in the event that something were to actually occur (unlikely, IMO).

All I know is that the parties involved had better hope there isn't any proof of slander if things get too out of control.

Where things sit now, I'd personally run SSTT; however, in regards to V3, I'm not and probably never will be a fan of piggyback systems. Should this deter others from using it? No... but this is my preference based on my experience with other vehicles.

Stage 2 is a poke in the eye for what you get and you will probably want the upgraded oil cooler as well. Hell there has to be away around the top speed limiter that is cheaper....LOL. Where the hell you going to go 180ish anyways.

e90 has the best threads on the speculation. I've talked to Jeff and Eurobahn to get the information I need to feel safe should I get the software update.

We can line 'em up at the old Bombay building if we get out there early enough...

I personally have the following Saturdays open this Summer (I'm not posting earlier than the 28th because I'm not sure when my car will be available and how many others could be available on that short of notice):
  • June 28th
  • July 12th
  • August 2nd
  • August 9th
  • August 23rd
I'm actually open on August 16th as well; however, that's the weekend of the Woodward Dream Cruise and am not about to even attempt at meeting up down there since things will be INSANE.

For anyone else looking, please feel free to state when you think this would be good. If a weekend is bad for you, let us know. I'm not opposed to pushing this out to later in August if it means getting more cars together.

Also, I know a few of you have already had your cars on a dyno and to be quite honest, all of the 135s out there will make pretty close #s to Clayton's car on these rollers; however, if you want me to get in contact with Jan @ Speed Industry to set up a Dyno Day for us I know he'll cut a great deal for 3 pulls each. As for 128s, I have yet to see any #s so if enough are interested, this would be a good chance to see what your car could do, Lili.

I don't have a problem organizing an all day event, provided there's enough interest... :roundel:
I can do June 28th or August 2nd. Where are we thinking for a meet?

August 2nd works better for me since I'll be leaving for Germany on June 29th for ED

At this point, I'm fine with any weekend this summer, just let me know time and place and I'll put it on the calendar

Thanks for organizing this.

I'm good except for June 28.

Is this open to other 'compact' BMWs like E30s, 2002s, etc?

Psh, the more the merrier, in my opinion. I would prefer to keep dinner a strictly BMW thing; however, if we head out to Woodward later on, you'd better believe the place is going to be packed with just about anything you can imagine! That's part of the reason I'd like to get out there earlier - it'll allow us to get parking all in a row.

I'm going to state it one more time and then basically set it in stone, but if anyone has any objections to August 2nd, please let me know!

Good News

I ordered my 128 a month ago and still cannot see it online. I called my CA and he checked his computer and said that my car - finally- is going into production today or tomorrow. He said I should get it in just about four weeks. YIPEE!

Nope, wasn't either of them. Could've been hooner35 (likely) or EINS/Jeff (less likely since he's from Commerce).

HERE's the list for reference.
