So I've just received my VIN, but am wondering what I can actually do with it?

You'll actually find the link doesn't work cause the website is set up that you have to "log in" when you do a new cargo search. instead go here: http://www.2wglobal.com/www/wep/index.jsp
and then click on "cargo tracking"
then click on "auto cargo"
then put in your VIN

The car mustn't have completed production yet.

No, if you have a VIN it must have been built. It is waiting to get on a boat or en route to Bremerhaven. Mine took ages to get a boat after being built.

Just keep checking the WWL site and it will eventually show up.

Wonder how long before we'll get any results through the tracking site? Surely they won't hold the car for too long before shipping it?

Be patient. All the VIN is is the work order to get the car allocated in production. What you want to find out is the production start date. This is the date that your car actually starts getting built. Check with your dealer. The VIN won't show up for a few weeks on the shipping web site.

So just because I have a VIN doesn't mean the car is built? I thought cars were allocated VINs once they were completed...

Once the VIN is allocated the car is in production..
It will be built within 5 days of VIN allocation my dealer informed me.

My dealer has told me that its build date was week 19, which was last week. So, I'm guessing it must be done by now. Patience is a virtue, but this is doing my head in!

i am SICK of not having any info at all on my order! i want to go to the launch event just so i can get a chance to corner my sa and pry it out of him even if it means i have to forcibly pour a bottle of 100-proof down his throat!

i placed the order with doncaster. i have no vin, no production number and the order was placed in mid-march. i am being slow-roasted - alive.
