Auxiliary audio input ?
BMWUSA.com lists this;
Auxiliary audio input for portable music players located in the center armrest Is this different than the 2 available optional ipod connections? Do you just hook up your ipod and listen through your car audio system with all ipod functions performed through the actual ipod? Does the head unit have an aux input button to select this feature? Thanks |

The armrest next to the emergency break has an aux input inside it...its not usb so it won't power the device like ipod option but you can attach any mp3 player to it and listen through the radio. The radio has an auxiliary audio section which you can switch to. Its also different then IPOD option because you don't have any control over the mp3 player through the Car. You have to manually control the mp3 player.

Thanks, indeed. I have wondered the exact same thing, until now, I did not know if acquiring an MP3 player was a waste.
Thanks again.
