That's a tough class in SoCal, Charles. Should be a lot of fun though. Watch out for Tom Berry in his National Champ BSP Evo (if the blown engine is repaired by now). I've ridden in that Evo and it is a MONSTER!

Tom Berry is BAD and so is the Evo! As far as I know the car is built to the limit of class rules and is not street driven. When I rode in it he was running Hoosier A6 285x30-18s all around. The launch was like a rocket sled!
Are you doing camber plates? They are imperative in BSP (talk to TC or Peter at TCKline, the e9x plates will fit, IIRC). I would suggest the following alignment as a starting point: Front: -3.5 deg. camber L & R, Total Toe Out 1/8" to 1/4" Rear: 1.0 degree less camber than the front, or -2.5 deg L & R, Total Toe In 1/16" - 1/8" The car on A6s with that alignment will turn-in and grip like a mofo -- corner exit should be awesome!

Run what you want! I am looking at STU ultimately because I got tired of changing tires if you can believe it and it allows a correct suspension set up compared to stock classes. Not only will your above mentioned setup be fun in autocross but an absolute beast on the track! The AWD Evo's are difficult in STU or BSP so we are just going to have to live with it.. |

The answer would have to be "yes". I talk to a lot of the RWD guys in STX,STU and that is the number one issue that is brought up. I know the front drive MINI's and rear drive Miatas that I have competed in wouldn't be the same without the LSD. I am sure Quaife will have a more "price" oriented option soon for the 135i but a couple thousand dollars will still be needed to play. |

Try the eLSD before you plunk down the cash. I was pretty sold on it, and got confirmation from a few SCCA National Champs today that drove my car at Evolution Performance Driving School today. Pat Salerno, Jinx Jordan, and Rob Faulkner all took my car out for multiple runs, setting their best "target time" for me to beat, which I did , but they all commented on how the car performed, especially the diff and power (I'm tuned tho).

I hope this eLSD has some merit...it would sure make things a lot easier. Time will tell. |
