my guess is highly unlikely. It currently is not showing up on any preliminary 09 option sheets. Unless something changes, I wouldn't get my hopes up

Ok, in answer to your question, yes accesories can be installed at the pcd in advance. Your client adivsor (or me) has to pre-order & get it set up in adavance. Obiviously there may be some additional labor costs incurred.
Understood. Thanks! I think I am now targetting around December for ordering. I'll be in touch for those carbon fiber goodies

I'm trying to find a manual transmission in California and I keep getting different information from different dealers when they do a search. And it seems most are black.

Can someone please check for me?

Irv, the BMW ED Program info you offer on-line has some very useful info in it. I do have one suggestion, tho'. When it states "You may stay in Europe for up to six months from the day you pick up your vehicle." you're inviting folks to misunderstand their tourist visa requirements. For all Schengen countries (virtually all of Western Europe), a non-EU citizen can only legally remain inside those combined borders for a max of 90 days. After that, one either gets a visa extension (hard to come by in many Schengen countries) or risks being fined. Your comment is, I'm sure, related to avoiding long-term taxation on the new BMW...but you gotta remember for ED purchases there's usually a non-EU owner sitting inside that new BMW and, for him or her, it's a 90 day clock that's ticking.

I'm not sure if this has been asked yet but is it possible to order a 135 with the brushed aluminum instead of the glacier silver aluminum?

^ Not in the US. We can have the glacier trim, gray poplar, walnut, or 'gloss black' (which comes with Hannah Montana sparkles ; -).

Thanks for clearing that up,it's a very valid point. We usually use generalities since it covers the masses quicker, but each client has different needs,so the reality is we check and recheck details specific to them.

I currently have 3 customers working in Europe for 6 months. One customer is constantly working in different countries but without any issues so far about taxation or insurance.

swap out seats OR modify existing ones?

Hey Dave, Thanks for the great thread.

Question for you:
Have you ever swapped out seats on a new car when the buyer wasn't happy with them? What sort of cost is involved?

Or can the dealer modify the existing seats ? The standard non-power seats on my new 135 have no Tilt and the seat is too flat for me,almost feels like I'm sliding off it. I LOVE the car but HATE the seats ! I looked at the hardwear beneath it and it looks like I could unscrew 2 nuts and bolts and maybe add an extention piece of metal to get the seat to "tilit". Is that a job for me, or would the dealer have any experience doing a modification like this? Would this mess with my warranty?

Thanks again for all the info.

I have, on order, a 34500 128i. I'm paying 33700.

Due to some odd things I don't want to get into, I need to know what a salesmen's commission would be on this purchase (roughly).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Convertible invoice price

Pardon me if I missed it, but I can't find the ED or US invoice price for convertibles on the sticky. Does anyone know these?

Dave,

I know you are off on Tuesday but I am giving this thread a bump, any insight on the 2009 pricing, and what about iDrive in the 1'er? Any thoughts?

Well, I've never had a situation where we have had to swap out the seats (except when one caught fire, buts thats a whole 'nother story) You can certainly swap out the seats, the factory sports do offer a tilt featurer. But buying factory seats after the fact is very expensive. I would suggest finding some one is planning on tracking their car & wants to replace their sport seats.
I'm sure if you are "handy" enough with the tools, you could modify your current seats, obviously for safety reasons you'll want to be careful.
In terms of warranty, the potential issue I see is if you modify your existing seat & it fails in some way, your on the hook. If you replace the seat & you do the work yourself (or outside of bmw) then again same issue.

:iono: depends on how they get paid. Most likely just a couple hundred bucks though. Even at full msrp, there is not much profit in the 1 series, the ca's commish isn't gonna be much.
