For all you 135 guys out there that are now looking for a few extra ponies in your twin turbo...the easiest and quickest way to achieve this is with the SSTT...this simple little modification add's approximately 40+ HP to your car in as little as a 20 or so minutes...this is completely reversible, handy for when you take your car for routine service at the dealership...it's completely non-evasive and does not in any way alter the ECU programing nor does it trip the MIL light. I works with all 135's and is an instant hit...this is PNP at it's best...

The benefit of this mod. is when you take your car in for service you simply unplug it from the car, take your car in to get the service work done and when you receive your car back you plug it back in...no mess or fuss with the dealership...the only way they would know this was on or ever was on the car would be if they saw it on the car...that's all...

Even though this is tuck away under the intake plenum it would be a good idea to take it off...just to be safe..

Nope, not illegal. But can void your warranty if detected. Discussed a gazillion times on all 135/335 boards. Get researched up before splurging.

The actual device may be untraceable but even if it is removed the BMW technician would be able to see the max boost levels of the turbos, timing info etc captured in the ecu logs. May raise some flags.

Do any of these companies offer warranty like Dinan.....I wonder why not.

I don't mean any offence to the OP, but this product looks a little sketchy. Its a magic box that you plug in and get more horsepower? I don't know anything about this component but I'd be hard pressed to believe that the interception of four wires can accurately tune fuel and ignition trims. I'd at least like to see some graphs of horsepower, torque, and MAP before I put it on my precious. That being said, if it proves its long term reliability and doesn't overspin the turbos, for the price it seems like a great upgrade for those of us that dont want to drop 2k on the Dinan chip. And, if in fact it is undetectable after its removed, bring on the magic box!

Please do some research before posting. SSTT is one of the best tuning options for the N54 at the moment.

Hmm.. good point. I wonder if checking maximum boost levels may become more common as BMW tries to fight back against tunes.

again....read up. The ECU is in control of the car with SSTT. SSTT doesn't alter the ECU in anyway. ECU is never outside it's min/max factory ranges.

A turbo car has to run at different intake temps and altitudes depending on owners location. This means that you can alter the reading the ECU is getting thus having the ECU run a higher performance outputs. The benefit is increased boost, but never over what the factory would allow, say if you lived in Boulder, CO.

The BMW Tech / computer would never see a "red flag" because there is nothing to red flag. In fact NOTHING is logged because the car sees NOTHING that is not in the range of normal operation.

It's pretty ingenious for the money and power return.
