If it's been tuned or modified the 335i has already had it done to it. Since the 135i is the same motor... e90 is the place to go if one wants to get the N54 "learn on".

A turbo car has to run at different intake temps and altitudes depending on owners location. This means that you can alter the reading the ECU is getting thus having the ECU run a higher performance outputs. The benefit is increased boost, but never over what the factory would allow, say if you lived in Boulder, CO.

The BMW Tech / computer would never see a "red flag" because there is nothing to red flag. In fact NOTHING is logged because the car sees NOTHING that is not in the range of normal operation.

It's pretty ingenious for the money and power return.
Couldn't have said it better myself...

Also to point out, AS A SAFE GUARD, the SSTT is designed so that times of excessive underhood heat it lowers the boost to keep the turbos in check...

I think the point has been made quite well and these have been in use for quite awhile...
  • They are untraceable
  • They work within the confines of the factory ECU limits, does not go outside this range
  • Does not alter the ECU software in any way
  • All it does is make full use of the factory program under ideal conditions, the factory ECU is still the governing processor, it has the final say.....
  • Max boost is around 11psi, which is the factory ceiling limit...
  • They are covered by a 1 yr warranty from the manufacture..
These are a GREAT mod for the price and everybody that has bought one whether it's been from us or somewhere else will undoubtedly tell you what a difference this has made to the car and how non-evasive it is...you are in complete control of it..no setting appointments to get your ECU re-flashed...and then worry about the dealership re-flashing it to factory software...and then have to get your ECU again re-flashed...that's annoying and constant cat and mouse game...this you simple plug in and unplug...how simple can that be...

Is their not a logging function within the ecu for temp, boost, etc? Even if it does not alter the ECU does it not capture all events weather preceived normal or not?

Or does the ecu record boost at lets say 8psi when in fact it is at 12?

I agree I do have to read up on this thing a bit more. I am definately interested.

Garage List
1999 VF BMW M3  [5.00]
2008 135i  [5.00]
2003 M3  [3.10]
2011.75 BMW M3  [4.17]
2009 STi  [3.83]
Checked out some of the links you guys posted.. did a few searches. I'm more aware of what this product actually does now. Thing is, I'm in Calgary (~3500ft above sea level).. Does this mean the sensor is already "doing the best it can", and the turbo tuner would just be redundant? Perhaps my gains would be restricted?

Funny. Just got the June issue of "Bimmer" magazine and I saw an ad about this. I was going to post and ask about it and low and behold, this is what "SSTT" is. It seems pretty good for the money. Just worried about longevity of running this and having any turbo failures or fuel pump issues when modding the N54 engine. Would this be able to be combo'd with the future Dinan tune?

Anyone who receives theirs, please leave an update of what you think and how the transaction went. This really is a great price and I'm leaning towards picking one up soon.

Well I can tell you this...all orders for the TT placed before 12 cst will go out same day. After 12 it may or may not be able to make the truck, but will go out the following day...they are shipped UPS Ground, you are given the tracking number...so within the continental US you should receive it typically 4 days or less, depending on your location. Canada orders may take a few days longer with customs and such...

It doesn't get any smoother than this....
