I'm interested to learn more about the carbon fibre film on the roof of the white one. Can you please post some more info and photos?

Thanks for the additional photos. Looks great. I have a few questions, hope you don't mind:
- Was it difficult to apply? - What is the material? Vinyl? - Will it damage the paintwork underneath? - Is it heat resistant?

It's not my car, but I'm sure any time you apply any film to paint like that, it's a semi-permanent/permanent process. The adhesive might be able to be removed within a year, but it would require a long process of cleaning, adhesive removal, more cleaning, followed by rubbing compound, polishing, waxing, etc.
Any time you apply something that large, it's not anything that anyone outside of a professional film installer would want to take on. If it's real CF that has been applied, it's sun resistance would depend on a UV clearcoat to protect it. Otherwise, after a year or two, it would start to bubble and warp from the heat of the sun. I've seen cheap CF hoods do that. But again, it all depends on the quality of the application and materials. I'm sure the OP can tell you more info. But these are just some basics. |

Oh boy!
If possible can you list the mods & cost? The side panels are so sweet, it's sick! AW is the colour for the 1. Glad I got it. I love mods that don't go overboard, like they were OEM. Nice! BTW photo's are so well done! Excellent pictures! I will save the link! What equipment did you use? If it was dslr Canon, did U use L series lens? Any light issues? EspressoBoy & Yoda |

Hey I am so glad that I ordered 135 AW and even happier to see those Performance bits which I also ordered! My 135i with performance wheels, brakes, cf spoiler, mirrors and diffuser on the M packet will look as good as on those pictures not counting the alcantara seats and gear lever! Sorry but I got so excited I had to write this ;D
The roof looks cool but I'm more genuine parts guy and I don't think I would do it, though i have to admit it looks super-cool

check my thread here http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...hlight=gigolas My roof is carbonlook vinyl. Difficult to apply? I don't know, I had it done and it took like one afternoon. The guy that placed it said it wouldn't damage the paint but he couldn't promise for 100%. When applied, he made some scratches in the vinyl so the vernis (don't know if this is the correct word , the stuff that makes it shine) would attach better. The 'vernis' (shiny stuff) was applied in another garage and also they didn't give me garanty that it would hold as it was the first time they used it on vinyl. This year I went for 3 weeks to Italy where the car stayed outside for 3 weeks in full sun, and I'm sure I could have baked an egg on my roof... but it didnt came loose.. |
