Factory subwoofer specs?

Anyone know the specs of the subs and enclosures of the stock logic 7 system? I'm thinking about changing out the subs, cuz it looks very easy to do. Was wondering whats the impedance of the subs are, and enclosure volume (assuming they aren't being run free air or infinite baffle)? Also the wattage going to these two speakers, and the wiring phase (series? parallel? series parallel? individually?). Not sure if anyone has this info yet, but if anyone does and could provide some insight, that would be great.

This is all I've seen so far. It's in german, but you should be able to tell what the stats are based on the #'s. Or just translate using google language translator. Hope that helps.

Yes. Itīs the system described in the left column. It has a widerange speaker in the door (100mm), no tweaters, another widerange in the back and a 160mm sub in an enclosure under each (front) seat.

Itīs sh...y though.

Sorry, but the audio systems available in the US versions are the ones described in the middle column ("regular" 10 speaker) and the right column (Logic 7, 13 speakers).

They mention somewhere in literature that the subwoofers tie in with the doorsills. Anyone figured out what this means?

Perhps it's me but.. I have a 2002 Eclipse GT with a 10" bazooka triangle sub with a 400 watt MTX ammp and it will shake your asscheeks until they jiggle like jello. I mean, don't get me wrong, I think the Logic 7 sounds crisp and clear, but... I have yet to feel any bass or hear anything significant for having 2 subs, one under each seat.

By using the seatbelt hole in the B pillar as a port hole?
Just a guess...

They are only about 8" and only get 70W each

The logic7 system is not meant to rattle your car w/ amazing bass, as is the purpose w/ many aftermarket stereo systems. Adding an amp and 400 watt subwoofer to your sound system is generally for those people looking for some "umph" in their system. The purpose of logic7 is to create a natural sounding sound stage, and i think it does that quite well as it mixes the highs, mids, and lows pretty well. However, i want some "umph" in my system and am looking to switch out the subs to obtain this, but in order to do this, i need to kno the specs i requested above (also mounting depth if anyone can find it ).

Im assuming these would be the 2*70w speakers listed in the far right column of the diagram above? If so, then great, 70w, 4ohms, i can figure out the rest myself if and when i take it apart (mounting depth and cone size). Thanks for the help guys I'll try to post up some info if i do decide to switch out the subs, but seeing as they only recieve 70w, i think it'll be pretty hard to find a 8" sub to achieve what i'm looking for. If anyone knows of any 8" subs that have a rather high sensitivity rating, please let me kno, thanks!!!

I guess that also means the HiFi Professional (non-Logic 7, 10 speaker setup) gets 40W subwoofers under each seat.

Does anyone know how hard it is to access these under the front seats subwoofers? Does anyone have any first hand experience removing the seats (manual or power versions)? Thanks.

Remember the airbags are in the seats so be very carefull

You have to disconect the seatbelts and airbags from the seats, aswell as the passenger airbag sensor mat before you can remove the seats

The woofers are in a special box enclosure under the seats. You have to remove all the screws and the radio connections and then lift the whole enclosure out

Nothing to prevent you from tapping a speaker level signal from the rear deck speakers to an amp and sub-in-a-box in the trunk. You can even drop the rear seats down for greater bass in the cabin, if you have the cold weather package.
