I agree.
The 8" subs under each seat do a great job. I have manually edited the tone via the equaliser and have the bass perfect - but with more in reserve if I ever needed it. The only thing that I don't like about the Logic 7 is the two settings - Music and Cinema - they are crap. They were designed for the 3 series setup and do a bad job of competensating for no middle speaker (which the 3er as).

I find the bass in the 1 does a great job with the midrange bass levels, they're nice and tight. But they're not that good at hitting lower frequencies without a bit of distortion.

Yep I'm happy with mine. Won't compete with an aftermarket sub but as a complete integrated system it is hard to fault. I have used the settings from an old post on here and it's much better than flat settings.
All I have to say is that Logic 7 is f*cking amazing!! Definitely do not leave the eq flat! The high notes are so crisp I still can't get over it. The bass pounds, and I sometimes have to soften it, or just turn the thing down altogether. I've left the car with buzzing in my ears from cranking it. I wish I could take it into the gym for my workouts! Hard to say what "optimal eq settings" would be because style of music and personal taste will dictate. That's interesting sroc, you have one peak between the low and mid range, and not much high notes in there. For all forms of dance/hi-nrg/house/hip-hop music, which is what I listen to mostly, I prefer 3 peaks - at low, mid and high. IMO, you definitely want mid and high to bring out the spectrum, and then it's as much bass as you can handle. Of course, this is just my l'il opinion, and it ain't gonna work with Manilow Since the L7 is so freaking powerful, I don't peak the low end as much on this system. My settings are as follows: 80: +5 bars 200: +4 bars 500: +3 bars 1K: +7 bars 2K: +3 bars 5K: +5 bars 10K: +8 bars Bass: +4 ish Treble: +7 ish Fader: -5 (to the rear) So far so good on my L7, but I've never had so many bars to work with so I should mix it up a bit. I'm on music mode, but still playing with that and cinema. No Idrive. My buddies are luvin this system, they freak when I crank it :rocks: H Edit: Modified number format above for clarity. Music mode sounds better than cinema, overall. IMO.

As far as I'm concerned I like it a lot and don't want for anything more. My previous car had two boot-mounted amps, a 12" sub, aftermarket speakers, Dynamat sound-deadening and all the space limitations and hassle that goes with it. The sound system really kicked and the BMW one doesn't quite have that clout, but I don't miss it. I'm over with aftermarket complication and like the discreet reliability of the Logic7. I still listen at high volumes when I'm on my own, mainly house music, and it's plenty good enough.
