Hi guys,
Just received the car back and it is back to normal. BMW haschanged the complete Display unit and have completely reprogrammed the car. It is working OK and should be resolved. Thanks for all your attention and help. Peter |

My guess is it's in the hall of fame, at the dealership... Where the tech's have a good laugh over beers... of course they will tell you they have to send it back to the Motherland... LOL as for reasons... I think we are;
On a need to know basis... They are not at liberty to say... If they tell us... they will have to kill us... It could also be an ID dash ten T error... (ID10T) and it was just up-side-down screen ... my not so famous PDC was caused by a simple gasket not pushed in and caused the location to flood with water, the module was replaced. I have yet to complain about the seat not being put back properly. If you do find out the “real” reason... It be nice to know. This is because someone else two years from now will have the same issue. Those of us who are still around can let them know. EspressoBoy |

Hi all, two years later ... it happened to me, the monitor on my BMW 120D 2006 turned upside down. Same thing, the car dealer is saying he has never seen this before and also the specialist has no answer.
Only suggestion from them, to replace the monitor which is approx AUD 3000. Has anyone heard about a (cheaper) solution for this problem in the meantime? Your replies are appreciated. |

I love the technology repair pixies that come out at night and magically fix your broken equipment, because they have saved me a potential £1200 bill from BMW.
I have taken the USB stick out of the iDrive and have been listening to radio, and the display decided to face the correct way again. I suspect something on the USB stick may have caused this, but I'm not certain. I will format the USB stick before reusing. |

same problem here in Belgium
First my car: E82-120d - 2007
I saw the problem I think early April of this year. As my car is still under premium selection warranty I went to the dealership. Reaction: Nver seen of heard of it, not even in the homeland Germany. First intervention: Complete new software upgrade, it took 2 days because they experienced problems with the upgrade. They said the problem was solved. When went for the car, the problem was still existing. Second intervention (2 days): trying to upgrade the system and testing for two days. They called to confirm the problem was solved. Apparently not when I went to collect the car. Third intervention (2 days): They have replaced the MASK. I'm not sure what this really is, but it costed around 2000 euros (paid by BMW warranty). They called to ensure me the problem was solved. When I went to collect the problem was still te same. Then the dealership had to call the importer in Belgium. Now their explanation is that is caused by non-OEM (GFK) towbar. I have removed the controlbox, but then problem still exists. Then it was caused by shiptuning, they said, but this was removed on the first intervention and there was no cure. So now I'm with my hands in the air...... |
