In the UK we always talk about power at the flywheel, and any dyno runs we do or see reported factor in transmission losses (normally measured during the post full-power run coast-down). It's therefore a little hard to relate to all the US tuned car dyno figures we see here. Does anyone have an accurate view on what the manual 135i transmission losses are, so us UK folks can think "oooh, 380 at the wheel, that's about 415 at the flywheel" (for example ;-))

I don't have actuals, but I think about a 12% loss for a manual would put you in the ballpark

So if you hit about 350rwhp, that would put you around 397hp at the engine. BTW .. with the rear in these cars, it may be a bit less than 12% as well ..

i'd guess 13-15% depending on the transmisison
