Seatbelt Warning

Does anyone know if there is any way to disable this? I promise I'll be good and wear my seatbelt on the road. I just don't need to be reminded when I'm trying to reverse park into my garage

Can we add to Timbo's request any info about how to disable the printed IDrive safety message on startup. It's already becoming annoying!!!

Yeah, this shits me to tears when I'm pulling into my garage too!

...as does the iDrive safety message. I want my display to stay closed until I ask it to open, dammit!

Is this the outcome of your issue as to why it opens even if you've unticked all the options, Cozza? It sounds as if I will be programming one of the spare buttons on the steering wheel to be an 'Open/Close' button. I recall seeing that somewhere.

Go to the main forum. The Yanks wail about this all the time. From what I can gather, you cant disable it!

Dies turning volume down work?

There has to be a way. It probably just uses a normally open or normally closed contact on the buckle. Shorting the two relevant wires together would probably make the system think the belt is always on.

I'd take care with this as it will all be linked in with the seatbelt pre-tensioners and other safety systems.

Agree about the annoying seatbelt chime. I had a 1st gen Mazda3 that beeped incessantly the moment you moved off which drove me nuts as I had a difficult garage to reverse into. Then I got a 2nd gen Mazda3 and obviously enough people had complained because now the seat belt chime didn't start immediately and when it did it was quiet before progressively getting louder.

Interestingly, mine does not chime when reversing. Maybe you reverse too fast.

Seriously though, do a search and check out the main forum. Heaps has been written, but don't know about solution.
