Max speed rating of RFT pontenzas

Heading down to PI to work for the V8s and will likely have an opportunity to put the 135 around the island a couple of times on thurs/friday. I'm just wondering what the tyres are rated to, given PI has a nice front straight, I don't want to cross the limits if it's something like 200km/h. I'd be expecting max 220-240km/h from the 135 with a good exit from 12 and a brave late brake for (the bloody dangerous) turn 1. Had a bit of a search, but can't seem to find it.

Thanks guys.

Ryan, they are not going to put a tyre with speed rating that is less than the top speed of the car so there is nothing to worry about. Report back on your experience though! I can't wait to go to PI with my car.

Sounds like a fun weekend.

I know it might seem like a stupid question, but do you get paid full wages for all the motorsport medical stuff you do? You seem to enjoy it far too much, espeically sitting in the medcar watching the race!

hummel, can depend on the event. Sometimes nothing. It's pretty good fun chasing the big boys (and even AussieRacer!)

Ronnie, unfortunately it's not an open track day, it's the V8 supercars round at PI.

PI track day would be fantastic.

If anyone wants tickets for this weekend, let me know, I'll see what I can do.

Is there any good support races this w/e? Such as GT Champ etc, not a huge fan of the supertaxis and the crowds but support races can be pretty good.

I've been passed once by the chase car at Calder. Took me three corners to get back past! Ford Territory as well..... Admittedly on the warm up lap a pin in the gearshift linkage fell out so I was stuck in 4th which made for a pretty slow getaway without blowing up the clutch, gearbox or crankshaft.

You have heaps of fun swarm chasing them around. I did flags at the grand finale last year at point 1.1 and had a blast despite the heat. This weekend I'm off to Canberra for a wedding so alas I had to give it a miss.
