Fault codes

Hi there

Can anyone advise me what may cause the following codes on my 135i:

29F2 Fuel high-pressure system, fuel pressure
Lower rail-pressure threshold value undershot
SAE diagnostic trouble code: P3090
Rail pressure 4075.553 mbar

29DC Cylinder injection cutout
Pressure too low in high-pressure system
SAE diagnostic trouble code P142E
Last at engine temperature 72 C

She is idling rough, doesn't boost at all, struggles to rev past 1500rpm. Only 2,100km on the clock and less than 2 months old.

I have to wait until Monday before the stealer will look at it...

Sounds like your High Pressure Fuel Pump is dying/dead. Unfortunately not uncommon. You're in limp mode right now.

I cannot remember the build date. I took delivery on 18 July and it usually takes about 6 weeks from build in Germany to delivery in South Africa. That would place the build around the first week of June 2008.

Unless I'm going blind, I see no dates on the door sill. There are two BMW Germany inlay stickers (black with silver print) -- one with inflation pressures and another with things like the VIN number, engine type code, etc. I've also checked the passenger door (just an airbag info sticker), the fuel cap (warning: unleaded only sticker), and engine bay.

Build is definitely within the past 3 or 4 months as the car was built to order.

I didn't realise the fuel pumps were a regular issue. Is this on all N54's or just the 135i?

Thanks for the help. On my insistance the dealer fitted a new 3rd generation high-pressure fuel pump and it is going like a Boeing again.
