Auto owners - DSC & DTC off, M1 engaged do you get wheelspin with WOT?

Sorry for all the acronyms.

My question is for the Aussie 135i Steptronic owners. On a private road, if you switch all traction assistance off, put the car in M1 (so you know you are starting in first gear), and then take your foot straight off the brake and onto the accelerator to wide open throttle are you getting wheelspin off the line?

I've done this a number of times and yielded no wheelspin until the shift to second when I then get some wheelspin. I'm wondering if the car is suffering from turbo lag, or the software issues others have talked about?

Even if I slightly spool up the turbos by holding a bit of brake, I almost have to be doing a burnout before it gives the same sort of burst off the line, as it does with in-gear acceleration. And I suppose that's the real issue I'm trying to work out. Why does the car seem slowish off the line??? Thoughts?

It will spin, i had a try with a demo auto 135i from bmw dealer

when i test drive it, I didn't switch off traction contral, I put to DS gear, and full throttle the car spin out, but the road is a bit wet.

With DSC and DTC off I would have thought that you would get wheel spin at the drop of a hat....:iono:

Yes there appears to be a bit of lag (i have a manual too)...definitely doesnt feel like the full 400nm at 1350rpm is available! I think this is a function of the throttle input, which could be played with I suppose.

When I demoed the auto the only wheelspin I could get was when flooring it whilst starting to corner... that's with DSC/DTC off.

Dont bother with that booster crapo, Just try and get V31.1 and your lag disappears. I mash the throttle from 1500 in 5th gear, pulls very nicely.

If you would like, come past and i'll put a Sprint Booster in and you can try it out and make your own decisions. No Obligation as usual.

Otherwise tune it.....:headbang:

Yep, easy to get wheelspin even in the 120i when doing that!

During further testing today on a private road the ar$e squirmed quite nicely in DTC mode, but I'm thinking that 80% throttle off the line for the first few metres and then WOT seems to give the best response from a standing start. Going straight to WOT makes it feel a little bit laggy. But that just seems weird on a car with an electronic throttle! So doubt a sprint booster is the cure.

But thanks Andrew for the offer. Once I get past my 3000km service I'm going to start exploring a few gains here and there.
