how well durable is vinyl if wrapping front lip?

so i know it's a sin to put anything CF on the car if it's not true CF but I can't justify spending the money purchasing a carbon fiber lip (if and when it comes out) that would be exposed to so much potential damage (fkn speed bumps, driveways, etc.).

i was thinking of doing a carbon fiber vinyl wrap but was wondering if it would hold up against rock chips, etc.
