If you need someone to buy the lids at mattig/rieger and ship them to the U.S., just pm or email me. shouldn't be a problem.
Genuine AC Schnitzer Parts are possible, too.
I'm living in Cologne, but my parents still live in Aachen (hometown of Ac Schnitzer). We bought all of our bmw/minis there (E28, E60, 2x Mini, 1x E36 Compact).

I like the CSR Lids the most. The Mattig are too boring in my opinion...

I did an estimate on the FedEx website for what a single 10 kg (assuming eyelid sets are 1 kg each, which is what the websites seem to say, so if 10 people want to buy eyelids) package from Cologne to NJ is, and putting in all the customs information (auto parts, valued about 600 USD) the shipping total is about 160 USD. 16 dollars a pair is much less than the 48 if shipped individually..

Lets start a new 'group buy' thread...have a group buy of 10 eyelids and list a firm price with shipping so we can get a list going

Ok, so far the list of confirmed buyers is..

Myself - Mattig (the ones in Hammam's picture, since I believe they make 2 varieties)
scorcherjf - CSR
ChrisK - CSR
slog - ?? (but since you suggested starting a group buy thread, I assume you want something)

Anyone else? Maybe more people will take notice and join in when a group buy thread gets started, I really don't want to have to pay TOO much for shipping. 10 people / $16 overseas shipping would be sweet

I'll start an actual group buy thread, but anyone know if it should just go in this cosmetic section, or should it go in the commercial sales section where I see many other group buy threads?

Maybe for some, but you can't beat $160 painted. I could always trim it down later if I wanted to.

Garage List
2008 135i  [4.33]
I can ship from my apo address at a flat rate priority mail. I just need to order to my german address and then ship them from my base. Hopefully that wouldnt be to illegal and it will work. How many people want them? It would be easiest to send them all in one big package so I only have to do it once. they might give me problems if i look like im runnin a buisness outta there lol. I'm sure i could fit tons of eyelids in one flate rate box so the shipping would be next to nothing.

160$ from Cologne to NY ???
This is with taxes/custom-fees, or?
We can try sending the package as a gift ;-)

btw: I don't think that each Lid-Set will weight about 1kg.
They're just to little plastic pieces.

I can fake you a bill with a lower price on it, if you need that for customs ;-)
=======

If you need them painted, I might ask a friend who works at a car-painter (?) how much the painting would be.

You could send them to NY 4 free.
Would not be that expensive.

Paint job is no problem. I think it would cost about 30-40€ MAXIMUM per Set.
If there are sets which should be painted the same color, the price would definetely be lower.
Bigger amount of sets = lower price for each one (doesn't matter which color)

so we just need a list and money and an address. i just tried to order a set for me and paypal is being stupid. It's not letting me switch between my military address and my german address. I'll just have to do the BLZ transfer.
