Buying a new 135i
Hi All,
I'm in the market for a new 135i. After visiting the dealership I soon realised that the advertised $71k vehicle will cost ~$84k drive away including on road costs. Bare in mind this is the base package with no options. The desired options such as Sat Nav, sunroof, metalic paint etc will push the overall cost well over $90k. I was little disappointed as this is pushing it more and more beyond my price range. I understand there are room for negotiation with the dealership to obtain some discount. I was just wondering what kind of discount can I be expecting and based on other experiences what would be considered a good buy? Thanks |

Welcome to the board.
I think the 135 is one of the best selling models BMW have in Australia so dont expect heaps off but you are being quoted full tote odds with pricing so they will move a little bit, maybe about four g's depending on the options. If they dont sell to you they probably will sell to some one else. Where you might do well though is if you are to finance, there could be some good terms out there to save on your monthly repayment. Yep. |

Check this thread :
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17498 $84k is way too much for a standard car. For the options you listed 87-88k OTR should be possible. |

G'day throttle, I paid $85k with met paint and sunroof (I didn't want nav). I shopped around but ended up only getting $1500 off the car, however I did get a really good trade in (a few $k more than Audi or VW would offer).

I had a quote of $86,500 for an Auto + Metalic + Pro Nav. But this was AFTER I had signed a contract at another dealer for much more...
So should be able to a Manual driveaway for around $85k. |

There appears to be some keenly priced ('used' or 'demo' I'm not sure) advertised. Unless there is a specific option or colour you're seeking, I'd look at those too, if anything for working out the price difference between them and one you have to order and wait for.
If you want it to get interesting, challenge the dealer on why you should consider the used/demo over new and see what kind of discount he has up his sleeve. You may be surprised. |
