High gloss vinyl trim over stock chrome, check it out, came out really nice

Well here it is, high gloss vinyl wrapping on the grill and trim, special thanks to Brandon at EAS for doing the window trim, the grills alone were enough for me to do by myself, looks just like the stock sport pack...

the grill is one piece but was very tough and I had to tighten it around the outside and then push in in the middle to stretch the vinyl and it still ripped a little so there are couple correction spots and I may redo it but Brandon say I did a good job on it so overall I am happy- I'll try to get a pic up later on- unfortunately our grills are really wide vs the e92 grill so it's hard to make the vinyl fit well

yeah that is exactly what i thought because my first go at it was one piece for each side and after i spent 2 hours wrapping the outside, when it came to put the inside down i would heat it alot and it was still rip. Try doing a horizontal seam its way easier and you cant even see it. Thats what i ended up doing but gl. The trim looks real good, plus can always be reversed which i like.

Hi, congratulations, great work! I want to do this mod on my eurpean 123d. I have one question, did you have to take out the trims to apply the vinyl? Thanks

nope, I had Brandon at EAS do it because he knows what he's doing, but anyway, it's done with the trim still on. If you look on e90post.com you can find lots of DIYs on the topic. As for the grills, if you chose to wrap those in vinyl, then you have to take them out and separate the inserts from the surrounds.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/search...archid=6539633 theres a search result, most of them are for matte vinyl, the install process is the same for glossy or matte

Would a regular bodyshop be a good place to get this done?
