Thanks to BMWDave for answering the WOW/CML part. (Didn't know CML was now WES though...maybe that's why I didn't get burnt when the market "adjusted")

Well....I have a philosophical problem with giving money to companies whose actions have resulted in the decimation of competition. Since the introduction of fuel vouchers the number of independent fuel stations in this country has reduced markedly.

And what do you save? $2.12 on a full tank (53L x 4c).....less than the cost of a coffee a week.

Australia's two major retailers are said to take 80c in every retail dollar you and I spend. I believe in the USA no one company is allowed to have more than 20% of the market (please verify). In Australia - 2 companies control 80% of the retail market! And they want more....!!! Banking, insurance, health - everything. And when they've got it all....say goodbye to the fuel vouchers because there will be no need to chase your custom - you won't be able to go anywhere else.

amk2912, point taken and, yes, sometimes it's not worth it, but with my previous wheels having a 68L tank and Premium around the $1.40 pl mark, it was more worthwhile.

I'll try a couple of tanks of BP and see how I go.

I will say this though, BP shit me 'cos they're nearly always the ones to raise their prices (12cpl anyone?) and 'gouge' the market. Maybe it'll be someone elses turn this year though (but, no, there's no collusion).

Petrol's a "loss leader" - they make bugger all on the petrol - they get you with the milk, pies, drinks, coffees, chewies etc. Nothing worse than when you find you've got no milk at 10pm and you have to fork out $6 for 2L at the BP Plus!

That's because you live in a village (Perth) where the shops close before sunset.

I use Shell or BP only. Try to go 98 when possible but not all Shell's have 98 in Perth and there is not that many BP's either
