Question: 135i auto trans

What are the limitations of the automatic trasmission as far as adding power to the 135?

Thanks

I don't think those limits have been found, yet...

What has been confirmed is that the STEP has a bolted ring gear that allows for an LSD to be installed, whereas the manual requires the whole housing to be replaced. I think most would agree that BMW's reasoning behind this stems from the fact that the manual will see more abuse from the owners.

There was a thread about the transmission not allowing more than 400whp without being tricked with a piggyback (flash limitation) , but I don't think anyone has broken one yet, even with Terry's 422whp auto with DR's...

Good to know the auto tranny can hold some power. I will have to look into JB3, I've read nothing but positive comments about their products.

Thank Again!
