window tint
I'm planning on getting my windows tinted next week. What is a good percentage for me to get? I live in RI so any tint on windows is illegal. I'm doing it anyways, but I do not want to go too dark cause then I'll get my balls busted by cops, but I don't wanna go to light cause then it will be pointless. I also got a price from sunset tint, he would do 35% on all my windows except front window for 220$. Is this a good price? I dont think I'm going to do 35% though cause that is way too light. I'm a rookie and never had my windows tinted before so feedback and opinions would be great on what I should do. My BMW is mettalic color with black interior by the way.

I'm confused lol, what is the point of getting hooper tint if you can't even tell your windows are tinted. I'm looking for that dark look, but I don't wanna go drug dealer dark lol. I know that if I go below a certain percentage, cops in RI will pull me over just for my windows. But if they are not too dark, they'll let it fly, and won't make a big deal out of it.

the point is if the sun is out and nice day enough to take a look at your car, the hooper tint would look like tint, but for some cop that hide or driving around it's hard for them to tell it's a tint on your car, it looks more like shades when the door is open, the black interior will also make it look darker.....donno how to explain to you, hooper tint is awesome i had it on all my car, when it's time to show off it looks just as good, but when i am driving around it doens't bother me a bit...and it does keep the heat out better than any other tint.

AD78, have any pics of your car? That's a good price too. Any harrassment from the cops? Would any shop know what I'm talking about if I told them this (sunteck carbon series)?

what percentage would be just barely enough to block out UVs?

All tint blocks UV. In fact, I think you can get clear coatings to block UV if you really want.
I also have 35% on my car. In MD, 35% is the max, so when combined with the slight factory tint it's technically illegal. However, I've been pulled over twice since getting it (for not having a front plate) and they didn't even comment. Most of the time the police don't care about tint unless you're doing something else to piss them off. And because more pictures means more better:

I believe mugennosora is talking about Huper Optik. It is a ceramic tint that at 35% is not too dark looking. Since it is ceramic and not metallic based it does not mess with the electronics. It also looks really classy.

upgrade - not a problem, i think it is much good in person, my pics have a glare (tint) and its cloudy at the time i take pics on the car.
and also, advantage of carbon series is shiny and more classy looking than the other tint |

35% is fairly dark, if its totally illegal you may want to to 50% to keep them off your back.
It's your call, but here's mine with 35% I would think in a state where it is illegal that would stick out like a sore thumb. |

Is that where you live?! JK. Do you have any other pics (angles)? Also what wheels are those? Are they the Drag wheels? I was going to get those for my winter set up but decided to go with another brand.
