Invalid File error! help - BMW 1 Series Coupe Forum / 1 Series Convertible Forum (1M / tii / 135i / 128i / Coupe / Cabrio / Hatchback) (BMW E82 E88 128i 130i 135i)

Hi,

I'm having problems editing my profile picture.
if I chose a picture from my hard drive, i get a message confirming the chosen picture as Current user picture but it does not show up in my posts or threads "at least I don't see it"
however, if I try the "URL to the Image on Another Website" option, I got an "invalid File" error message. I have pictures on PhotoBucket.
any idea how to solve this issue?

Its probably the size, and demensional size of the pic. i had the same problem for a whiel couldn't get it right. It was a pain cause the SIG pic i had for 1addits.com worked fine. once the merge it didnt' like it anymore. Mine is hosted on another server too.

Make sure it's small enough. I had to keep resizing my pics before I could get them to show up in My Garage.

I still cant get the pics to work in the "My garage".

It's a bit of a PIA. Make sure you have regular jpgs and that they absolutely do not exceed 1350 x 1100 pixels (I think that's the magic number). You may need a photo manipulating program. I use an old program called Micrografix Picture Publisher (now Corel Paintshop Pro).

i can easily resize my pictures, and I did succeed uploading pictures of my 125 on this site. my problem is that I don't manage to put a profile picture like the one you're all using

Go to your User CP, Edit avatar, click Use Custom Avatar, then Browse.
Be sure once again that the image is less than the max size (100 x 90) pixels.
