It seems in todays current climate people will try to low ball you with low price. They will tell youre dreaming, I say get on their bike. Unless you are not desperate to sell you should get the price you asking. I have yet to see any secondhand car advertised for under $70k.

People shouldnt compare a new base model with an optioned second hand car.If both cars are base than I agree 60-65 is the range.

Your car is not a base model and a few options on a $75k base car can easily go over $80k. Dont do yourself a diservice and sell it cheap unless you have to.

So soon Kris? That's a damn shame, but perfectly understandable in the present financial climate.

Carsales search shortcut

Looks like the market is asking for $70k-75k at the moment. Definitely strip off your carbon, JB3, etc and sell that on ebay rather than giving it away with the car. Best of luck mate and I hope you're not waiting too long to find a buyer.

From the original thread, its just a roof and the stereo - retail price is $5k exactly. I also have those options and I they were discounted to $3000 for both.

Kris's car is not heavily optioned by any means. He should be able to get a good price for carbon stuff on here. They could devalue the car if left on, also new tyres at only 11,500 kms is not a good look. To me it points to track days and thrashed - stick the RFT's back on.

Put it in for 70k tops and take 65k, maybe a bit less, maybe a bit more!

Thrashed? Er yeah right. I sold the RFTs because they are rubbish. I sold the original tyres because the ride was too firm, not because they were worn out. These tyres cost over $3k and this car is certainly not thrashed. Thanks for your input though *rolls eyes*

Hey Guran, decided to keep it mate. Too much loss to consider.. Im going to get a bike to keep the kms down :P Maybe a postie LOL

Kris, I know that, I am thinking of getting new tyres too. 2nd hand purchasers would see things differently as I mentioned. I am going to keep the RFT's - will be good to sell car with near new tyres one day.

Its pretty obvious to me. When I have sold cars (alot) I get interigated on every point. Changing to expensive tyres does point to you being a enthusiast, tuner, track dayer etc...

What I am saying is a car with the standard RFT's would be worth more than the same car with normal hi po tyres. People wont pay for mods and this may been seen by many as a downgrade.

I fitted not runflats to my Z4 and kept the runflats. I traded it in on my new 135 and I was happy with the price. It compared very favorably with carsguide and redbook prices. I had the BMW mobility kit. The BMW dealer didn't ask for the runflats back, knew I had new tires (they supplied them at a good price) and resold the Z4 with the non runflats. It was never even an issue. They also told me that on some models in AUS runflats will become an option as some cars will come standard with regular tires.

G'day Kris.

When I read your post on selling your car I was wondering if you'd make more money for yourself selling say the CF diffuser separately (provided you've still got the original).

I'm guessing a lot of car buyers wouldn't see the value in it unless they were enthusiasts like us.

You could get the 70-80k for the car and then whatever the diffusers is worth 2nd hand - they're not cheap if I remember correctly? - on top of that.

I'd make you an offer for the diffuser but bonuses are looking slim around here this year. Dunno, maybe if you'll agree to sell it to me I can find the money somewhere anyway! }

That's great news Kris. But a postie bike? God no! Anything but that. Actually I hear you can't even buy them anymore (new, that is). My uncle has had a few of them on him farm for years, and he recently bought the last one available based on advice that there wouldn't be anymore coming. Maybe that was just a story? Or maybe not.

Hey Kris, sorry should have said this before - congrats on keeping the car. Maybe check out a Suzuki TS185ER, learnt to ride on one and have a soft spot for them

Kris, I have had many bikes, go the postie or a trailbike or a scooter if you want to save cash.

Even a CBR600 will cost you a fair bit...

I sold my VFR to get some cash for the 135. Have had GSXR1000, R1's, Fireblades in the past and all are money pits. Would love another bike but saving and renovating atm so it would be much cash!!!

I reckon you're a bit ambitous on that price. I bought a Le-Mans Blue Auto 135i coupe in December, price was held until delivery this month for $72,087 on road. I bought a white Auto 125i conv, with front pdc for $68,528 last week (was $77,427 list) - Feb 09 compliance, Oct 08 build. These prices are on road. Last month was a good time to buy with BMW Aust giving kick backs for first quarter sales figures

There are some good deals at the moment. If I were negotiating now, I'd do better on the 135i than what I got.

$72K OTR is a great deal. Is that an '09 build and comply car?

I thought I did well a couple of weeks ago getting an ordered manual with roof & met paint for $75.5K on the road. But $72K is awesome - congrats.
