Still a 1addict!

I closed the door today on a long ordeal with my 128 vert. Originally purchased in April '08, the top delaminated after a few months and was replaced under warranty. The replacement top leaked, requiring several trips to the dealer over the last 6 months and eventually the headliner just snapped last weekend. The dealership was very helpful throughout this mess and they called me today to offer a replacement vehicle. They had a new '08 135 vert - without sport, and offered it to me. I'm going to miss the sport seats, but I'm already addicted to the extra power. So how soon can I expect my HPFP failure?

Congrats on your second 1er. I think you're in a small group. They offered you a 135i vert? Was it an even exchange?

I drive 135 since september and didn't encounter HPFP failure. I guess somebody was right you do not have pump problem unless you modded car.

Congrats on the 135i vert. Ive been having some problems of my own with the top. Nothing with the headliner leaking. My top's mechanicals have simply gone south. And yes...the power is very addicting, even in the vert.

The exchange cost me $3500. Considering the difference in sticker between the 2 cars and the fact that mine was a year old, I thought it was a pretty good deal. Having another 12 months of full warranty is pretty nice, too.

You should have had them swap out the sport seats.

I would have opted for sport seats also but I bought my non-sport car off the lot. I appease myself by reminding myself that I've twice had to pay to have the side bolsters redone on sport seats. Plus it's much easier to get in and out of the seat now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought sport seats were standard in the 09 135i, at least the coupe??

Its not an 09. Its an 08 that wasnt sold if Im understanding this right.

And also its the vert, so all bets are off.

Wait, non-sport vert, so do you have the 17s? How are those Goodyears?

They're not standard in the US. You have to get the Sport (or M-Sport) package.

Has the 17's with the Eagle LS's. They seem to absorb the bumps from our horrible midwest roads a little better than the NCT 5's. That's about all I can say about them.

Actually if you look at the results of that poll, modding has nothing to do with it. I've done 0 performance mods on mine and it went out at around the 8 month / 8k miles mark.
