Worst day EVER!!!!

Just about to leave work on friday and somebody in my office comes up to me and says "howd you crash your car already?" I thought it was a bit of a friday afternoon joke.

Untill i realised that it was no joke and some jerk had backed into my car and left a nice dint for me.

Needless to say i am soooo upset about it. Spent the whole weekend sulking

I feel for you Sarah. I would be devistated as well. Looks possibly like something with a bull bar has done it as it seems to be pretty high up. Any chance there are security cameras where you were parked?

No cameras

The thing that annoyes me the most is that i go out of my way to park away from all the other cars.

On the good side my car is already in the hands of the repairer. I will get it back on the 25th.

I showed the shot of your lovely car to my wife, who recently had someone leave a nice $1200 "rub"on the front of her car, and she felt for you and said she understands how you feel! Ther are some real Pr1cks out there who both can't drive and don't give a @@T about other peoples property.

Good luck with your repairs, make sure you get the BEST repairer money can buy and forget about it!

Cheers

Feeling for you! I've now got scraps at either end from other people. Never had this problem with my other cars!

That really sux, Sarah. I feel for you.

As others have said, it's just amazing that some peple 1) are so stupid, 2) manage to get a license in the first place, and 3) just don't give a damn -- I guess that's the "package" that defines some people.

Personally, I couldn't sleep at night if i did that and didn't leave a note, or fess up in some way.

Don't worry about the repairs - I'm sure they'll do a great job. I'm not a panel beater, but I have messed with cars for a while now. I believe there are little shock absorbers behind the bumper to protect agains such bumps - hopefully the impact wasn't enough to exceed their ability to protect.

A suggestion (if I may), If you can now, have a very close look at the seam between the boot floor and the rear of the car, from inside the boot. That will tell you if the bump was enough to exceed the capability of the little shock absorbers, and thus potentially buckle the boot floor. If it has, there'll be a gap somewhere along that seam. Look across the whole width of the car.

If you can't do it now, ask your repairer the specific question. If he's / she's a decent person, they'll have a simple answer for you - and it's a yes / no question. Certainly do it for yourself when you collect the car.

It'll be good as new when you get it back.

That's awful Sarah. Should be back good as new soon though!

I had someone run a knife down the left side of my car a few months ago. There are some weird people out there.

May bad karma bring that irresponsible driver radio malfunction whilst he is on the freeway, so by the time he looks up he just sees glimpses of the barrier he is about to run into...

Seriously, sorry to hear about this. If it's any consolation, just know that you didn't cause your car's first injury and that it can be put right.

ouch, that sucks

at least its the boot, the boot isn't part of the body so they'll probably just put a new boot on there. Hitting that rear quarter panel would suck.

You should check the carpark frequently if its where you park every day for work. That person probably does the same and you might be able to find the idiot.

Zuzu is right it is a fair wack... so sorry to hear about that.

As Radium said it is the part that you can repair. As your car is new, paint matching should not be a problem because they just paint the whole boot and rear bumper. Bake the paint.

Make sure they have a few undercoat too! They could throw in a CF diffuser and CF wing won't they?

If you believe in a chinese witch craft... there is a thing called "Ta Siu Yan" or beating the wicked spirit in Hong Kong. It will hit the bad guy and get all the bad luck out of you. I shall perform one for you later haha.
