I'm digging the psychodelic paint scheme. Like groovy, and far out man!

The Priority 1 options have gotten way out of hand.

Hoping they see the light and offer the hatch in the US this time.

Jebus, what's with this sudden mass-updating of cars?? Didn't BMW usually not update stuff for like 6-7 years?

Hopefully with the coupe and convertible success they will.

They did, and they still do, but the 1er came out as a 2004 model, so 2004+7 = 2011. They'll need a new one for 2011.

Or perhaps a new one will be released in 2011 as MY2012.

That's what I thought at first, but then noticed a couple 1er factors about it...

1) The roof line is too low for a X1 and starts to slope down a little too close to the middle of the car to be a X1.

2) The antenna is an actual antenna like the current 1er, and not the shark fin as noticed in the X1 pics or other Bimmers..

Even if it were offered here in NA, would anyone really be interested in it? Hard to tell I know with all that camouflage on, but at this stage it looks as exciting as the X3, X5 & X6 trucklets to me, which is to say "Not"!

I'd happily take one of these. A bit more size than the current 1er with a highly-usable hatch. Particularly since the next-gen 3er is supposed to increase in size as well, this would slot between the current 1er and current 3er and - for me - would be perfect. Get the big-*ss engine and an aero kit and turn it into an M1 Touring.

Why is it assumed to be a 1-series? A 1-series hatch needs to be 3-door, not 5. That thing is just too big.

Uhh what? There are 5 door versions of the current 1 series hatchback in europe. This is the next 1 series 5 door hatchback no doubt.

The rear view looks great with the wide looking shoulders!

Personally, I hope they stop production and don't make a new version of the 1. Wouldn't mind a little rarity.

Judging by the front, it looks like it will share that new angular hood/front fascia as the 3series. Should look agressive. I wonder if the 135i will have the new N55 single turbo inline 6 that's coming out?

How much bigger would you say? Significant or just slightly?
