I know it's a little early to be thinking about winter, but I figured I throw it out here anyway.

I am thinking about getting a dedicated winter shoe set and hence need the 16" wheels.

Are you sure, that you want to get 16" wheels?
AFAIK there are not that much 16" wheels for the 1. The one i know are Styling 139 and 140. Most of the wheels are 17" and 18"

Not correct. Tire Rack has several 16" wheels that will fit (aftermarket wheels, anyway,) but note that this is only for the 128i. Unfortunately, the 16" wheel will not fit over the six-piston calipers of the 135i.

Yes, I am sure.

They come standard on the 128i and if someone was to upgrade they may want to sell the original's.
