I believe it is not a problem but more of a European aftermarket look that he is striving for. I know when I was stationed in Germany almost all the "car club" guys had theirs converted to a single large wiper.

Probably just trying to mimic the Le Mans LMP1 look.

IMO, the only single wiper system that I liked was in the W202 Mercedes C-Class. Other than that, having a single wiper in the 1er looks tacky.
