Question for BMW Performance suspension with fatter tires
My RFTs are about to run out I'm going to get some new tires. Probably 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rears. Do any of you know if I will run into any trouble (maybe rubbing, etc) if I also upgrade to the BMW Performance suspension since there will be a slight drop? Thanks.

I have dunlop direzza star specs in those sizes with BMW Perf. suspension. There's no rubbing unless the car goes through a deep dip in the road at a high speed. But had that issue on stock suspension as well.

Are you thinking of an all weather tire or more of a performance tire?

Performance Tire. I was on tire rack yesterday and got my list down to about 6 tires. Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec, Hankook Ventus R-S2, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric, Sumitomo HTR Z III, Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport and Yokohama S.drive.
So far its looking like the RE760s are the best all-around choice. Anyone have any feelings on these? I know I've heard great things about the Direzzas but they wear out way too quickly. |

I am running PS2's on my wheels (OZ Alleggerita HLT's), and I did have problems with rubbing the fender on the rears. I was able to correct this by doing what I call the hill-billy fender roll. Haven't rubbed since, even after two track days. So yes, with those sizes of PS2's on the OZ's, I did have to roll my fenders in the rear. The fronts fit just fine. I would imagine with the stock susp., you should be fine, but don't take my word for it. BTW, Tirerack warned me about possible rubbing when I ordered.
