Firs oil change - BMW 1 Series Coupe Forum / 1 Series Convertible Forum (1M / tii / 135i / 128i / Coupe / Cabrio / Hatchback) (BMW E82 E88 128i 130i 135i)

I’m about to do my first oil change. Is the oil capacity for 135 7 liters or 7 quarts? Thanks

Mine is a 128i but I don't think it matters. It's 7 quarts. Best way to get the materials you need is to get a oil change kit from Tischer or United. It should be about $55.

On the other hand, I checked mine after adding 6 quarts and it showed full. So I didn't add the 7th quart. Having a spare quart is useful.

Thanks for the info. Same happened with my E46 M3 when dealer changed oil first time. 5.5 liters was enough, and they put 6 to over fill the engine. There is allways some oil left because of the way they design oil pan (at least for E46)
