dude, it's time to do the install by feel.. you know in star wars, where Luke's learning to use the force, and he has the blast helmet on, and is trying to stop the lasers from that little flying ball from hitting him with a light sabre.

That's where you need to be, feel the force, and get it done!

Tell me a bit more about your Injen, and I'll think about it. Seriously, I'm interested to know how much the Injen drones at cruising speeds. Terry had said the instructions would be up in the "support" section of the BMS site about now (I've checked twice today). The Power Box came from Andrew at EMS (a BMS distributor), amd he has given me a basic "pinout" but I just want to hear from the source. If I don't hear from the "Source", I'll default to the "Force". May it be with you, my friend.

hehe.

The Injen is great. It took a while to get used to the sound, and also i think it took a little while for the car to get used to the intake. Now i'm sold on it, the car sounds fantastic, occasionally there is a slight drone, however i haven't noticed it on the highway or for any extended periods, it's more if i'm cruising in 2nd or 3rd in traffic at a particular rev range, and it's easy to avoid... plus i like the sound.

The engine under heavier acceleration is a beast, the sound is addictive. A mate who's pop owns a new Carrera S (with the optional sports exhaust) came for a ride with me, i put my foot down, and got a "bloody hell, this sounds unreal". He said he had no idea the 125i would go as well as it does, even though it looks sporty, the real performance makes it a bit of a sleeper imo.. very happy.

Thanks for the reply mate! I've got my Light Saber in hand... I've got to think about that Injen, because if I can get 8-10 hp and an equal amount of torque out of the tune and another 8 to 10 out of the Injen (and they may compliment each other and work very well as a team) then I'll have a significant gain. Thanks again!

yeah, on the HP increase side of things, i'm not 100% sure of the level of improvement. Seems like the engine character has changed slightly, I've a suspicion that low rev torque is down a little, while the upper end of the rev range has improved, overall i think it's a little better.. the sound from 6000rpm to 7k, is amazing, it screams!

On the BMS, i read it has a few different map options, how do you change the maps?

And at low revs, it has this meaty sound, i mean the exhaust sounds awesome stock, but now it's got an extra dimension. It sounds like it wants to eat red meat raw.

Wow! Red meat raw! That's a frigging mean description, luv it! Well, What I'm thinking is that the slight loss of low end may be due to a lean condition being created when the engine gulps that fresh air, but the tune could fill that back in with some extra fuel and correct this. I've mentioned that my experience is with Harley Davidsons; I've set up fuel maps for aftermarket controllers, and one thing I learned is that high flow intake filters, freer exhausts, and fuel injection controllers will each give only small increases when used alone. They are meant to be used together, and when they are, and when they are properly matched, they "complete the picture" and produce the results. One thing at a time, but will think more about the Injen once the tune is in place. Janus and Yuzi, you running stock exhaust? Have you been in for service with your Injens on? Any issues with that?

Okay I received the pinout from Andrew several days ago, just been really busy. I hope to do some baseline #'s tonight, then install it tomorrow. Andrew's responsiveness at EMS has been excellent. I'll be back!
