Sneak peak photos of the upcoming AERO-7 wheel by Aftermarket Performance EXpress (APEX)
This is the first public release of any information about these wheels.

This new wheel design is exclusive to the BMW 1 series. The AERO-7 will be available in both 18" and 19" sizes and staggered fitments. All APEX wheels are flow-formed resulting in a light weight track and street worthy wheel. The 19x8" test wheel which has already passed stress testings, weights 21.0lbs, and is certified for a 1580lbs load rating (717KGS).

Available widths and offsets for the wheels are not 100% finalized yet. There are 4 widths being looked at for the 19's, but only 2 will be produced. We should be receiving our 18" sample soon, with photos to follow. Here is the currently available fitment information.

18x8" et45
18x9" et55~

19x8" et45
19x8.5" et46
- possible option
19x9" et50~ - possible option
19x9.5" et55~

Expect to See these wheels by February. All molds are complete. Final details are being worked out and then production is beginning. Wheels should be available in 4 finishes.

Wheel below is a 19x8" AERO-7 in the Hyper Silver finish

The sample was spec'ed for a smaller oem cap by accident. They are changing this as we speak to accept the larger OEM caps

Nice wheel, I would drop the little holes between the mounting holes. It looks a bit too "tuner" wheel. Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't call it a tuner styling since it's something you'll find on every single BMW oem wheel and many wheels that are designed for European vehicle fitments. I'm in the USA so I can't 100% verify, but it is my understanding that some foreign alignment machines use these holes to mount to the wheel (or at least they used to in the past). You'll notice that the holes are common on some other brands such as almost all BBS wheels, OZ wheels, and many other brands. I wouldn't consider 80% of BBS's wheel line to be a tuner fitment.

They look larger then they are because they are on a very concave section of the wheel that skews the hole into an oval. Your 135 stock wheels have these as well in the same size

I would like to suggest an offset of 48-50 for the 18x9" wheels, that would be better than a et55 9" wheel IMO. What is the pricing going to be like for a set of these in 18"?

The AERO-7 isn't really similar to a Porsche wheel, or that GT3 wheel. Our wheel has 7 sets of spokes vs 5, and the way the spokes connect to the barrel and hub is very different.

The 1 series uses very odd offsets in the rear (High offsets). People looking for a concave, wide wheel will all have to deal with rubbing because of the low offset that pushes the wheel out too far. I don't need to go into detail about how offsets effect fitment. But If our 18x8" et46 wheel were mounted in the rear it would already be 1mm more aggressive then the factory 8.5" rear wheel. So if we're going to produce 9" and 9.5" rear wheels, the offset has to be adjusted appropriately to allow for proper fitment, without having to install rubber bands for tires.

We want a 225/255 or 235/265 fitment to fit as if the car came like that from the factory.

This being said, we would most likely do an offset around 50 for the 9" wheel, but nothing lower.

Regarding a more concave rear. It is not possible on any wheel when you increase the wheel width by an inch on the 1 series, unless you significantly compromise rear fitment. This means the front and rear wheel will share the same depth face, but the rear will have a wider barrel. The mounting pad will hardly require any adjustment, As extending the barrel will naturally increase the offset.

Three things.

The wheels would look beautiful on a 1 Series.

I'm amazed most of you guys pick 18 in. over 19 in. wheels. I thought extreme style would triumph over reason.

I caught my first glimpse of the Vorsteiner 135i lip on a white 135i on the rotating ad on Nick at Jlevi's post.

Hi,

I would go for 18x8 and 18x9 as they would be perfect for 225/40 front and 255/35 rear.

I would also consider 19x8 front and 19x9 rear to fit 225/35 and 255/30 which are 3 serie standard tyres.
