I just lost over $4,000 cash.

Title says it all. I had the cash in my pocket, within 30 minutes later I knew it was missing. It could have been worse however. I just feel like venting a little bit.

Why did you have 4k in your pocket and why do your pockets have holes in them? Youre not a member of the Little Rascals, so get that shit fixed.

Sorry, but even in hundreds that is forty bills, which makes a decent pile even if crisp.

Vent all you want. If you did that you need to give your car away too.

And what could have been worse in this instance? Your wee wee didn't fall off?

EDIT: This reminds me of a buddy telling us on the golf course how his gf stuck her finger(s)....

One of my other buddies just said "Man I don't know if you should have told that story" and walked off.

Its not a matter of just forgetting where it was. Someone had to have picked me. Here is a brief version of the story.

I had an issue the week before last where I cashed a check over 10k and they put you through the ringer at the bank for cashing a large check. They ask your SSN, Name, What you do, company you work for, address phone number and grill you about the money. So Last week I had them split my check in half so I could be in and out. I cashed half of it which was just over 5k. The other half was a check which I kept inside the money envelope. I was in a rush friday and wasn't able to make it to the bank on time and I wanted to cash the other half before I dropped it all off at the bank. I brought the money with me this morning to make the deposit. I had it in the morning, 30 minutes later I couldn't find it. I made one stop on my way to work which was at a QT gas station. I had them pull footage and I can't see anything interesting. It was all in a bank envelope. I'm a very alert person and the only plausible explanation is that my ex-gf stole it from me somehow when she was at my house this morning. Its not like I left it somewhere.

And yes, they were in 100's. The bank requires I call them a week ahead of time and let them know how much I'll be needing so they can have it available and I request 100's specifically for the ease of transportation. I normally go directly to the bank however having to run and meet a couple people prevented that from happening.

If you're really so self conscious and aware then in all likelihood you didnt lose the money. How often does that really normally occur. The percentage of you losing of something of such importance is much more unlikely than someone robbing you. Someone jacked you man. Someone who probably was aware of the details of you receiving this large amount of tender.

You did not give more than "I had it and in 30 minutes it was gone" in the first post. Still sounds funky, but I am sorry. Thats not chump change for most people. At least not me.

Yes, someone stole it from me... My ex knows I make money and she knew I had cash... The thing is, I put the money in my pocket, and an hour later it wasn't there anymore. Its not like I left it anywhere or something.

This whole thing sounds like BS to me.

$4k is a WAD of cash. It's going ot be a fat lump in your pocket, and you're going to notice if someone is trying to pull it out.

Also, if someone DOES manage to get $4k of mine, I'm calling the cops and having their sorry ass thrown in jail.

Buddy, I don't remember even sitting on it really or anything. All I remember is this. I wake up, My ex-gf who still has a key to my house and I have a son with her so she comes over from time to time to get him or what not, she was at my door signing for the new double scoop dash I got in the mail. I went back to bed and I woke up to her asking me why I was still here. She thought I was supposed to be gone already. I told her that I don't have to go to work until 11. It was 10 am. She thought I left at 10. Regardless, I sleep a little bit more. I wake up, Put on my jeans, grab my envelope of cash which also has the other half of my check in it, put it in my back right pocket, I normally carry cash in my front pockets but this was a little too big. I go downstairs, put on the rest of my clothes, and I start tearing into the package. Its a fucking mess downstairs, bubblewrap, newspaper etc. My son wants to go outside and play in my E90. I open the door, I sit in it with him and a couple minutes later she comes outside and gets him and I get in my car and we leave at the same time. I drive to work, stop by a QT on the way, grab a gatorade and an OJ, go to work, someone asks me to break a 100, I reach for my cash and thats when it begins.
